An intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) is a small device which is fitted inside the uterus, where it can remain for lengthy periods to prevent pregnancy. Depending on the type of IUD, it is between 99.5 - 99.9% effective and lasts up to 10 years.

The IUD insertions and removals are a 30 minute appointment. If you are a new patient to our practice, please book an initial consultation with a doctor to discuss if the IUD is right for you.

The Procedure Fees

Insertion – Private fee of $200 with a Medicare rebate of 72.05

Removal and Insertion – Private fee of $200 with a Medicare rebate of 72.05

Removal only – Long consult fee of $125 with a rebate of 76.95 (Patients with concession cards or under the age of 16 will be bulk billed).
