The Doctors Mulgrave Road Medical Centre, Cairns (Nicholl Holdings Pty. Ltd.) is accepting expressions of interest from passionate, professional VR General Practitioners for Full or Part time opportunities.

Position Description / Key Responsibilities / Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience -

  • Education - valid medical degree, with specialist Vocational training in General Practice
  • Registration - full, unrestricted registration with relevant Medical Board (e.g. AHPRA in Australia)
  • Experience - previous experience in a GP clinical setting is highly desirable, no less than 2 years 
  • Consultations - (both face to face and by phone), assess patient health, diagnose illnesses and manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Provide comprehensive, continuing and coordinated medical care to individuals and families within the community and surrounding districts, primary point of contact for physical and mental health. Refer patients to specialists, act on laboratory tests / x-rays, prescribe medication and guide lifestyle improvements in disease prevention
  • Essential skills - active listening, clinical decision-making, and managing patient centred care, perform minor surgeries, manage wounds and coordinate with other specialists for comprehensive care
  • Documentation and Administration - maintain detailed electronic patient records, including medical history and treatment plans. Handle patient reports. 
  • Clinical expertise – have an in-depth knowledge of general medicine and the ability to manage complex, multi-morbidities
  • Communication - excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skillset, with sensitivity in relation to diverse patient needs
  • Problem solving and organisation - able to make decisions confidently utilising researched material. Good time management and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in clinical systems (e.g. Best Practice) and accurate digital record keeping
